Loving yourself is a long journey that includes a lot of self-reflection and acceptance. I'm starting to believe that the only way I can be a better friend, sister, daughter, and lover is to take accountability for myself. No more pouring from an empty cup.

2021 is still very much unhinged but we persist. Last year really made me appreciate my city so much. My bubble got smaller and smaller as the pandemic got worse, but I feel much more closer to my friends and to my family more than I ever have before. Including those I rarely see. Bonding time whether done face to face, via FaceTime, text messages or dm exchanges have moved up in quality rather than quantity.

I share my history, our life in the Philippines prior to moving to the U.S., and how the recent events pushed me to better understand the struggles of raising multi-cultural children that my family particularly experienced. Here I also break down Systemic Racism, Internalized Racial Bias, and Colorism using examples from the perspective of the Philippines.
