Aug Week 4 Digital Recap
I can’t believe it’s almost September. This year went by so quick! This month seemed like it was going to be another kooky month in isolation but each week, 2020 just kept pouncing on the heartbreak.
1) Jeffree Star has a new man - Denzel Dion’s reaction
Detoxing from social media is not very easy but I keep up with the internet gossip by watching recaps on Youtube. I stopped following anything Jeffree Star related like 5 issues ago but when I saw Denzel Dion’s thumbnail for his reaction video I had to watch. The video did not disappoint, he touches on the current TikTok drama as well and how creators just need to get along. His channel is one of those vlogs I love to play during the day while doing stuff around the house.
2) Alessia Cara’s Dewy Skin Winged Eye Look
I’ve gone from caked up to absolutely bare skin when it comes to my makeup looks over the years. Only recently did I find the right balance that lets me have fun with colors and accentuate my features without packing on the makeup. Take it from Alessia Cara who shows Vogue her guide to dewy skin and the perfect winged eye minimal look. I love what she says about expressing yourself however you want for yourself.
3) Letetra Widman, sister of Jacob Blake gives testimony
I can’t believe we are here again. Over 100 days after Breonna Taylor’s death and her murderers still haven’t been arrested, Anthony McClain was shot by the police in Pasadena and a few days later Jacob Blake was shot 7 times in the back in front of his 3 children. It’s just insane to me how protecting Black lives is still a debate when it’s clearly a matter of lack of basic human rights. This speech delivered by Letetra Widman is a powerful and moving testimony demanding justice and reminding everyone that above all labels, victims of police violence are human beings.
4) Chadwick Boseman Passes Away at 43
The only difference between a hero and the villain is that the villain chooses to use that power in a way that is selfish and hurts other people. - Chadwick Boseman
